What Was the Moon Phase on Your Birthday?

The Moon completes its cycle of phases every 29.5 days, so the phase it held at your birth is as individual as your birthday itself — and in lunar astrology it's read as a life signature alongside your sun sign. This free calculator computes the real Sun–Moon angle at your birth moment — ephemeris-grade astronomy, not a lookup approximation — and tells you your birth moon phase, its exact illumination, and the Moon's zodiac sign.

The eight birth moon phases

Born under a new moon, tradition says, you're a self-starter who learns by leaping. A waxing crescent birth carries the emergence signature; first quarter, the builder's moon; waxing gibbous, the refiner. A full moon birth is the relational, expressive signature — awareness through others. Waning gibbous is the teacher; last quarter, the reorienter; and the waning crescent (balsamic) moon closes the cycle with the old-soul signature.
